By the end of this introductory course, you will have a basic understanding of how a boat sails, and some experience of steering and handling the boat.
During the course you can expect to be learning skills as listed below

• Able to rig a boat with assistance
• Launching and recovering a boat from the water
• Basic ropework
• Basic parts of the boat
• Basic wind awareness
• Understands how to control the speed of the boat
• Understands how to steer the boat
• Understands what personal safety equipment you should use/wear while sailing
• Knows how to call for assistance
• Basic understanding of capsize and importance of staying with the boat
• Is able to paddle the boat and steer while being towed
